Curtain Animation and Details
About the files
- Animated Sliding Curtains - Original (Blender file): fully animated, fully textured, fully customizable Blender file with all keyframes and modifiers on. See the tutorial below to move the curtain in your scene.
- Animated Sliding Curtains - Alambic (Blender file): fully animated (Mesh Sequence Cache), not textured, easier to work with but the animation is fully baked in.
Note that the Smart Curtain Opener won't be as detailed as in the video (check the attached images)
How to move the native Blender curtain in your Blender scene
The idea is to move the Curtain with an empty, and rebake the physics animation.
- Select the Curtain object and in the modifier tab, hide the Cloth, Solidify and Subdivision modifiers
- Use the empty called "Curtain - Manipulator" to move the curtain where you want in your scene.
-
Under the Physics Properties Panel, click Delete Bake
- Then unhide the Cloth modifier, and bake the physics. Your computer will freeze for a few minutes.
- Once the Bake finished, the animation should now work properly at the new location of your curtain.
How to move the Alambic curtain in your Blender scene
- Use the empty called Curtain - Manipulator to move you curtain in your scene. No need to bake anything.
