Description:
This is a model of an Antique Floor Globe. It is made from a walnut base, bronze adjusting ring, and cardboard globe. Two versions of the globe are included in the file. A well worn and used globe and one that is new. Either one would look good in a contemporary or period scene. The models are of sufficient detail that they render well in close-up.
Usage:
The models are contained in a single .blend file with all textures/images/materials packed inside. To use either one in your scene, you can append it as follows:
• Go to the File Menu and pull down to Append
• Find the “Antique_Floor_Globes.blend” file and Double Click on it.
• Double Click on the Collection icon.
• Select either the “Append_Antique_Globe_Old” or the “Append_Antique_Globe_New” collection and Click Append.
Note that the model components are all parented to a master Empty Item represented by the large labeled axis. You can move or rotate the Empty to adjust the location and orientation of the model. In addition the tilt angle can be adjusted by selecting the bronze adjusting ring object and typing R (rotate) and moving the mouse until the tilt of the globe is in the desired position. In a similar way the globe can be rotated around its axis by selecting the globe sphere object and typing R (rotate) and moving the mouse until the globe is in the desired position.
