The rigs this auto-rigger generates are a pleasure to work with! The export to unity feature works great and made my life so much easier! I had a problem with the foot roll export to unity, messaged the developer and it was fixed the next day! Can't recommend this enough!

Absolutely fantastic addon with a lot of flexibility for different types of rigs. I'm really impressed with the Smart Rig system and the rigs automatically generated weights working out of the box. (Even with finger detection not always matching correctly initially, there are settings to fix the problem which is appreciated.)
If you get the addon, I recommend also buying the Voxel Heat Diffuse Skinning addon with this, as it has direct integration with AutoRig and really helps if you have multiple layers of clothing on your character.

I'm very happy Artell made this addon for blender. It's quick and easy set up and eases your headaches. A C-class rigger could easily become an A-Class imo. You jut have to follow the instructions. I can also make my custom bones and constraints without destructing the original Rig. I can also switch between the reference rig and the generated rig without errors, although this can only be true in a stable Blender version. New Blender updates can cause errors in the addon. Downside is, I have to rely on Artell's updates.
*Rigging: The addon calculates your mesh data to automatically place the bones seamlessly
*Binding: It's more accurate than the Blender's automatic weight painting. The addon also includes "Voxel" binding. If you have separated clothing objects, it can easily calculate it as one object so the weights can have smooth transitions between objects.
Overall, this addon helped me become an advanced rigger.

I bought this Auto-Rig Pro and binded my character 2 days ago. But when I rigged my character, like moved the right leg forward to form a 90 degrees angle and left leg backward to form a 90 degress angle, the mesh's hip and stomach area crashed and deformed. I had to do weight paint all over again. Not understand why there were so many vertex groups for 1 bone: Thigh.L, Thigh_Twist.L, Thigh_Stretch.L. I didn't know which bone should I weight paint and I tried for 2 days but my mesh still crashed/deformed. I asked Blender for help and Blender sent me the creator email address. I sent 2 emails to creator but no reply. So, in my opinion, this addon does not worth US$40 as it created more problems for me, instead of helping me with the weight paint problem!

I thought I would buy Auto-Rig Pro before I did any serious study of rigging and weight maps and the rest. I used the smart feature. With about ten to fifteen minutes of tweaking hands, feet, and spine to be perfect, I had a fully functional 3d human. Needless to say, I am amazed. I could tweak it some more but what I have now is very good. I am just a Blender newbie. I have to say I fully recommend this to newbies and Blender pros.

Amazing tool, flexible yet easy to use.
Compared to Rigify (which is also amazing), AutoRig Pro documentation is better, it's easier to use (though the principle is very similar), it has more features and the export is very clean (no need to retarget if you want a clean hierarchy in unreal)
I specially like the option to export the rig with the name hierarchy for the Unreal mannequin.
Essential!
This has been a massive boon to my workflow as a solo dev. It saves so much time compared to manually setting up armatures, and with a little touching up, you end up with results that punch far above their weight.
If you're on the fence, I implore you to go with it. I used to dread rigging, but with every project, I fall in love with rigging a little more, and it's all thanks to this!
To top it off, the developer's really helpful and responsive too!

Used tis addon for years. One of the most important addon for me as a hobbyist game developer. The simplest way to make any non-rigged character to be rigged for Unreal Engine. It is really very efficient and as simple as I could only imagine. Thanks for the great addon and continuous support (including the new UE5 base mannequen)
