What’s the license of the files?

The license for the assets and shaders fall under the ‘Standard Royalty Free License’ except where stated otherwise (usually CC0). For more information please visit this link.

Will I need a powerful computer to make use of this?

Not at all, the asset is designed with the humble ‘potato-powered’ computer in mind, or at least with the recommended minimum specs to run Blender.

I just started learning Blender, will I be able to use this?

Of course! It’s super simple to use and we’ve created a useful ‘how-to’ step by step video tutorial to help demonstrate it.

How to give this as a gift?

The Blender Market can send you an invoice and then deliver the gift to any given email; in order to claim the gift the recipient will need to create an account with that same email.

Can I upgrade?

Yes! Blender Market have made the process really easy. Any problems please get in contact with [email protected]

How do I export my result to an external software?
The dust particles asset is a very blender specific tool, it uses a lot of customisation of Blender's shaders and heavy use of Blender's own geometry nodes.

Having said that, actually it is possible to export out some simple data using the alembic format, currently that would most likely just result in a very basic animated point cloud, so we wouldn't really recommend it.

That leaves the only option for now which is to render the results of the particles within Blender and then use any required external bit of software to use that resulting image as a single vfx element. Like what might be done with an image sequence of a smoke element and composited in the background of another shot. Check this part of this tutorial on the subject for more info : https://youtu.be/5UGC8xUDgys?t=911
Which version of Blender should I use?

We’ve tested the files on Blender 3.5, 3.6, 4.0, 4.1 (and 4.2 beta)

For the v1.2 use blender 4.1 and higher for proper camera functionality

For the v1.0 pro version we also created a version that should work for 3.3 and 3.4.
