Sci-Fi Signals
Inspired by a famous backup software, I wanted to recreate an animation, a little challenge, made in Blender 4.0.2 using geometry nodes. For who wants to integrate a cool effect of bit signals along electrical input and output lines.
Features
You'll be able to manage these parameters in the Geometry nodes:
- Amplitude: height of the input signal lines with proportional instancing of the lines
- Width: width of the input signal lines
- Funnel amplitude: height of the final part of the funnel
- Funnel spread: width to stretch to pass from the entire amplitude to the funnel amplitude
- Funnel width: final width from the terminal of the funnel
- Output width: length of the output signal line
- Bit resolution: resample pass to get the desired size of the single bit signal for both the input and output lines
- Input color: color of the input signal lines
- Output color: color of the output signal line
- Input bit density: probability from 0 to 1 to get a bit turned on while the animation for the input signal lines, 0 = no presence of bit turned on (no signals), 1 = full presence of bit turned on (more signals)
- Output bit density: same as the Input bit density but from only the output signal line
Uses
To use this effect in your project you can just use the downloaded file as is.
In the blend file you will find the setup of the animation, the entire geometry nodes setup for the input and output lines and the entire environment of the intro of the video tutorial (no sounds). Also you will get the material and backoffice job on the compositing to get the final result of the preview images and video animation ;-)
