How to change the GCode resolution in Prusa Slicer?

The option exists under Print Settings > Advanced in Prusa Slicer:

INCREASING this would lead to a LOWER resolution GCode.
You can increase it and see what value works alright for you. You'd be able to see the difference in the model in the slicer itself.

How can I create a timelapse animation?

It is a rather simple process.
First, go to your prefered slicer program and create a gcode file. It might help to lower the resolution of the GCode file (See the previous FAQ for instructions on that).

Once you've loaded the GCode file into blender with the plugin you'd see something like this:

  • Click on the "Animatable" section of the plugin
  • make sure your timeline marker is at your starting frame. In this case frame 1
  • Now, input Layer Index as 0
  • Hover your cursor on top of the layer index field and press the key "i" on your keyboard. You would notice that the field would change its color. That means a keyframe has been added

You would also be able to see the keyframe in the timeline
  • Now go ahead as many frames as there are layers in your GCode. My GCode had 240 layers so I'd go to frame 241
  • Go back to the Layer Index field and make the value equal to the number of layers. For me it's 240. Please read the last step as well, you are not done yet.
  • Hover on the Layer Index Field and hit "i" on the keyboard again to add another keyframe
  • Hit the play button on the timeline to play the animation

Please understand that while I'm trying to simplify animating time-lapses this is not a complete substitution for Blender knowledge.
Please look up how to render frames in Blender in order to obtain a working video.
